Agreement to terms

By accessing or using personica.net ("the site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you should discontinue use of the site. We may update these terms from time to time — the current version is always available at this URL, and the "Last updated" date above indicates the most recent revision.

Description of the service

Personica is a free, ad-supported personality discovery platform that provides personality assessments based on the Big Five (OCEAN) model. The site offers personality tests, archetype profiles, career intelligence tools, comparison features, mini quizzes, and educational content about personality science. All core features are available without creating an account or paying a fee.

Permitted use

You may use Personica for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes. This includes taking personality tests, viewing and sharing your results, reading archetype profiles and blog content, and using career intelligence tools for personal career exploration.

You may share your result links freely with others. Result links contain your encoded test data in the URL and do not require the recipient to have an account or any special access.

You may not use Personica for any of the following purposes: automated scraping or data collection from the site without prior written consent; redistributing, republishing, or reselling site content (including archetype descriptions, test items, and scoring algorithms) as your own; using Personica's test results for employment screening, hiring decisions, or any form of personnel selection; framing or embedding the site within another website in a way that obscures the Personica brand or misrepresents the source of the content; attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the scoring algorithms or item databases for use in competing products.

Assessment disclaimer

Personica's personality assessments are designed for self-reflection, personal development, and entertainment. They are not clinical diagnostic tools and are not intended to replace professional psychological assessment, psychiatric evaluation, career counselling, medical advice, or therapy.

The Big Five personality model is a well-validated research framework, but no self-report questionnaire is perfectly accurate. Your results may be influenced by your current mood, social desirability bias, the context in which you take the test, and other situational factors. Archetype classifications are approximations based on trait score thresholds and should be interpreted as helpful starting points rather than definitive labels.

If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, relationship crises, or require career guidance for consequential decisions, we strongly encourage you to consult qualified professionals — licensed psychologists, counsellors, or career advisers — rather than relying solely on any online assessment, including ours.

Intellectual property

The Personica name, logo, site design, archetype names and descriptions, test items, scoring algorithms, Personality Fingerprint visualisation system, and all original written content are the intellectual property of Personica and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this material without prior written permission, except as permitted under fair use or fair dealing provisions of applicable law.

The Big Five (Five-Factor Model) personality framework is in the public domain and is not claimed as proprietary by Personica. Our implementation of the framework — including the specific items, scoring methods, archetype mappings, and RIASEC derivation weights — is original work.

Career data displayed on archetype profiles and results pages is sourced from O*NET OnLine, maintained by the U.S. Department of Labor, and used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.

Your Personality Fingerprint — the unique radial visualisation generated from your trait scores — is yours to download, share, and use for personal purposes. You may post it on social media, include it in personal documents, or share it in any non-commercial context.

MBTI trademark notice

MBTI® and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® are registered trademarks of The Myers & Briggs Foundation. Personica is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by The Myers & Briggs Foundation. The four-letter personality codes displayed on Personica (such as INTJ, ENFP, and ISFJ) are used as cross-references for user convenience and discoverability only. Personica's archetypes are classified using Big Five trait scores, not Jungian cognitive function theory or the MBTI instrument. Advertising

Personica displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Advertising revenue is the sole funding source for the platform and is what enables all features to remain free. We do not control the specific content of third-party advertisements. If you see an ad that you believe is inappropriate, misleading, or offensive, you can report it directly to Google through the ad's built-in reporting mechanism (the small "i" or "×" icon on the ad unit).

Ad display and personalisation are governed by your cookie consent choices as described in our Privacy Policy.

Third-party links and services

Personica contains links to third-party websites and services, including AurorIQ (auroriq.com), MoneyMaths (moneymaths.net), O*NET OnLine, Google Fonts, and various social media sharing platforms. These links are provided for your convenience and do not constitute an endorsement of the linked site's content, products, or privacy practices. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy policies of any third-party site.

Limitation of liability

The site and all content, tools, and features are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Personica and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the site, including but not limited to damages arising from decisions made based on personality test results, career recommendations, or any other content provided on the site.

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the site or these terms, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue use of the site.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Personica and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

Governing law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.
